Completion of a benchmarking project is only the beginning of the opportunities for program improvement offered by Germain. Using a simple data extract of patient billing data, we can create customized interactive reports that provide department administrators with the critical information needed to address day to day operations and ultimately facilitate any necessary to make changes to the current operational structure.
Patient Census
Demonstrates the amount of patients entering, staying, and being discharged from the hospital on any given day which is vital in creating an effective patient throughput system within a hospital.
Yearly Billing Summary
The amount of patients seen per month by coverage and consult teams during a yearly period. This report also calculates the average number patients seen per day which is used in determining physician’s productivity
Activity Analysis
Using a physician’s FTE and schedule, this report breaks down a physician’s time by activity including: teaching, PTO, and administrative duties and determines what percentage of a physician’s time in scheduled and how much of their time is funded.
Inpatient Profile
Breaks down a physicians inpatient billing by code and level (low, medium or high) to determine any irregularities in billing patterns. Additionally the data is used to determine an average RVU produced per inpatient visit.
CPT-4
An expansion of the Inpatient Profile, this report captures the volume of every code billed by a physician during a specific time period and displays them by Inpatient, Outpatient, Incident to, and Procedure categories.
Billing Collection
This report tracks the amount of bills submitted by a physician, the amount of the charges, any received payments (though both collections and contract payments) and determine any outstanding charges for Inpatient, Outpatient, Incident To and Procedures. It can also be used to determine the average amount billed and collected by any single physician.
